The Calder Ranger is a third generation cross between a Rhode Island Red and a White Sussex which is why they only sometimes have black tails and others times have white.
Calder Rangers as a whole are easy to manage and have an amenable temperament. They’re an adaptable and hardy breed, visit web being able to withstand disease and stress well.
Calder Rangers – like most Hybrid breeds come into lay quite quickly and normally maintain a steady production throughout their life (not including moult periods) laying approximately 320 eggs per year.
All our Hybrid birds are fully vaccinated against common poultry ailments, site as well as from mareks, coccidiosis, infectious bronchitis and salmonella to mention just a few. These birds come to us at 16 wks of age, and are beak tipped at day olds for welfare reasons.
They are reared to R.S.P.C.A. Freedom Food Standards.
